The California Youth Leaders Association (CYLA) was organized back in 1985 to serve as a direct channel of communication between USBC youth bowlers and the California USBC Association. They help train members in the operations and administrations of USBC and the California Youth Committee (CYC); assist adult association officers and directors wherever possible and to serve on various committees of the California Youth Committee (CYC) and to promote youth bowling through membership drives, serving as student coaches, conducting training programs and instructing timely projects to further the growth and interest in youth bowling. All certified USBC youth bowlers that reside in California are eligible to become a Youth Leader locally and must be at least the age of 14 to become a youth leader with the CYLA Program. Any member under suspension from membership in USBC shall be ineligible to serve as a youth leader. The members of the CYLA shall control the affairs of the organization and shall have the power to adopt procedures and amend or rescind these procedures as long as they are not inconsistent with the Constitution and By-Laws of the California USBC Association or the USBC. One of the duties of the CYLA is to host and organize the Annual Queens & Master, Prince & Princess and Coaches Relief Tournament every weekend of the State Championship Tournament. Currently, the Youth Leaders are working on trying to get more kids involved.
