The California State Masters Scratch Tournament is open to all CALIFORNIA USBC members (male and female, youth and adult) certified through the California USBC. This is a premiere elite event, where the high average bowlers, both amateur and professional compete for a state title. The champion also receives a paid entry into the National USBC Masters event, one of the majors in the professional circuit plus berths into the following two years Masters Finals. Double Elimination (Best 3 game series) format.

  • 32 seeded berths from 2010 Open Championships Doubles/Singles* event

  • 3 seeded berths for the Past 2009 & 2008 Masters Champions and the
    2010 Open Championships Scratch All-Events Champion**

  • Remaining seeded berths filled from Last Chance squad on Sept. 10

*Provided that they have paid their Masters entry prior to bowling D/S at Regency Lanes.
**Unless already qualified, in which case an extra berth will be filled from the Open Championship qualifier. If a finalist cannot participate, replacements will be eligible based on the order of finish from the Last Chance qualifier and will take the seeded position of the absent finalist.

Finals: The competition in the finals will be match play double elimination format. Each match will be 3 game sets with total pins determining the winner.
