Linda Johnson

President

I began bowling in 1964. I became affiliated with the local association in 1974 and then in 1978 I began my many years with the association office. 28 Years have passed since I was first elected then employed, my titles have changed; I am now the Association Manager for the San Gabriel Valley USBC. In 1982 I was elected as director with the California WBA and in the years of 2000-2006 I served as president.  I have also served as director for the local youth board since 2004.  For the past year I have been 1st Vice President of the CUSBC.  As you can see I have been dedicated to the game of ten pins, bowling has been a big part of my life.

Rosie Parker

Started Bowling in 1958. I became an AJBC Certified Instructor in 1959 and continued to work with the youth into the 70's. I joined the San Gabriel Valley 600 club in 1974, serving as 1st VP for 4 years and President for 6 years. In 1980 I joined the San Gabriel Valley WBA, serving as a director for 8 years, 1st VP for 2 years and President for 10 years. I continued to serve the board as a director and Life Member until the merge in 2006. At the time of the merge I was elected 3rd VP and am now serving as President of the merged San Gabriel Valley USBC. Elected a member of SGVWBA Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service in 1995. In 1995, I was elected to the California WBA Board, serving as a Director and Sgt-At-Arms. In 2006 I was elected to the CUSBC Board as the Sgt-At-Arms. I was appointed Sports Services Coordinator for the US Olympic Festival in 1991. In December 2003, I retired, after 33 years as the Accountant/ Accounting Operations Supervisor with the Rowland Unified School District.

Lynn Graves

I began bowling in 1964 in a learn to bowl class. I Got hooked right away and after the 4 week class they signed us up for a league. I was elected secretary and didn't know a thing about what I was to do. I know you have all  heard it before, "don't worry we'll help you"! I LOVE bowling and have been a league  secretary for over 37 years. Plus I'm  involvement with the SDUSBC & CUSBC. I enjoy being able to help league secretaries learn and I want to be able to help where I can on any level. Thank you for this opportunity.

Chris Addington

I have been married, (wife Bette), for 33 years and have one son, Christopher. Graduated from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, California in 1973 with a degree in Architecture and started an architectural practice in 1977 in California. I sold my practice in 2005 and have focused on my avocations of which one is bowling. Started bowling leagues in the early 70’s in Bakersfield, California which is still my home. Served and chaired the Transition Committee for Bakersfield Bowling Associations to USBC for our local association, Golden Empire USBC which was one of the first to be chartered with USBC. I served as the GEUSBC’s first president and currently am a director in our local association, GEUSBC. Inducted into the GEUSBC Hall of Fame in 2010 for meritorious service. I bowl on leagues, tournaments and enjoy the game of ten pins, bowling which is a major part of our family life and culture. My other interests are photography, classic cars (building and showing), artistry in glass, canvas and sculpture. I support bowling in our community and try to influence its growth as a lifelong sport as well as a fitness component for total wellness. I have served on numerous local, state and national boards and look forward to continuing my efforts to help bowling grow prosper and continue to move forward.

I have been bowling since 1960 and was married to a bowling proprietor for 46 years, of which we spent 36 years in Sacramento. I was involved in the AJBC programs, both State & Local for 10 years. In 1979, I took on the position of Assistant Tournament Director for the California Women's Bowling Association and in 1998 assumed the position of Tournament Director & Meeting planner. Held this position until the merger took place.

Nancy Arvanitis

It was 1956 and I joined my first WIBC league with my Mom, the Ladies Masters in Huntington, New York. I averaged 146 that year. I was 11.  I was hooked for life. My Mom was a great bowler and taught me how to bowl over the next few years.  There were no youth leagues so I was an "adult" bowler early in life.  I wish I had the opportunity that our youths have today. I got a few lessons from the great Andy Verapapa. He thought I was pretty good and worked with me at his old handout, Century Lanes.  I didn't realize at the time that he was such a famous guy.  In my early twenties, I became involed in the administrative end of the game. I was elected to the board in my association in New York. A number of years went by adn after my two sons joined my family, we moved to Vista, CA.  The day I arrived, I went to the local bowl and signed up for a scratch match play league. My sons followed the year after that at ages 5 and 7. They bowled and I became a youth coach and again, I was hooked. I have served as the Local Secretary and President of the North County YABA;  President, VP and Sgt-At-Arms, Director of the Avocado WBA. I was appointed to the position of Secretary-Treasurer (later Exec. Director) of the CA State YABA in 1989 and I continued in that position until the CSYABA merged with the CSBA and CWBA in 2006 with whom I serve as Second VP, Youth Tournament Director and Youth Committee Chair.  I have served on several National Committees and am a Master Instructor, Instate Instructor and Bronze Level Coach.  I love my sport and my "kids". It doesn't get any better than this.

I have been married for 30 years and have 5 children (1 son  & 4 daughters). I have a BA Degree Child Development CSU Sacramento 1979; National Bowling Council Certified Instructor 1979; USTBF Bowling Bronze 1993; USA Bowling Silver Certified Coach 1995; and USBC Level I & II Instructor. I was also previously a pre-school teacher and currently deliver newspapers for The Modesto Bee in my spare morning hours since 1986. I am currently the Youth Director & Instructor at McHenry Bowl in Modest, Ca. since 1988 and really enjoy working with youth.  I want to spread the good word about the importance of this sport, and the many facets it can offer to youth. One of my goals is to be the oldest woman bowler in the USA some day... out at McHenry Bowl with my scooter and ball ramp...  still rolling!

I began bowling in 1972 in Page, Arizona.  In 1981 I became a director on the Mesa Valley WBA (AZ) board and was elected a director on the Arizona WBA board in 1984.  I moved to Orange County in 1985, was appointed to the OCWBA board in 1986 where I served as director (2 yrs.), 5^th Vice president (1 yr.), 2^nd Vice president (6 yrs.) and  secretary (10 yrs), until the merger at which time I became Association Manager.  I also served as OCYABA secretary for 15 years.  I was elected to the CUSBC board in 2008. I have served as a delegate to the WIBC convention for 20 years, CWBA 15 years and CSYABA 13 years. I belong to the National, State & Local 600 Clubs, Orange County Bowling Council, Greater So. Calif. Bowling Council, Calif. Bowling Writers and am the booking agent for the Orange County Bowling Trailer. I was inducted into the OCWBA Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service in 2005 and was CSYABA Officer of the Year in 1998.

Joined WIBC/California WBA/Los Angeles WBA in 1950. First served LAWBA as Director 1969, progressing through chairs to President, office held for 12 years. Appointed Director to the CWBA in 1990, serving 16 years. Member of National Women Bowling Writers 20 years, 9 of which was as Secretary. Member of National 600 Club, Le Dames 700 Bowling Club and California Bowling Writers.  State and National Delegate since 1979.  Honors include, Life Membership in WIBC/NWBW; CWBA Member Emerita;  Member of LAWBA Hall of Fame; Numerous writing awards; Special Recognition from 1991 Olympic Festival.

Darvis Lee

I started bowling in 1963 at Yosemite Lanes in Modesto, which is the year it was built. I participated in many state tournaments as a youth and joined several youth leagues. I worked as a score keeper in my youth and then as a porter, front desk, and as a mechanic. I took a few years off during the 90's but returned in 2000. I am the current President of Woods Creek Little League and have held this position for 4 yrs. I also have held the position of Vice President and as a Director I have been involved with Little League for the past 10 yrs. I have been a Director for my local Association and was just re-elected as Gold Country USBC President for the second time. I'm a certified coach and a member of our youth league. I know the skills that I have learned while working with Little League's 300 kids, 600 parents, each year, will help me to communicate well with others. I have been self employed most of my life as a electrician and I am now retired. My wife and I have been married for 32 years. We have 4 children, 8 grandchildren and are foster parents and have been for about 10 yrs.

Mike Lucas

I have been involved in bowling for over 33 years both on the local and national levels.  I was the local association president from 1982-1986.  I was a Jurisdictional Associate for ABC from 1988 until ABC became  USBC in 2005.  I have helped to create the local lane certification program and helped create the local Hall of Fame. I was inducted into the local Hall of Fame in 1994 and remained active to current. In 2006, I was elected as President of the new local USBC Association was also elected as a CUSBC Director. My current average is 211 and I have bowled six 300 games with a high series of 796. My family is very important to me and I have quite a  bowling family that has grown over the years. Service to the bowlers is my way of giving back something to bowling!

Lynn Matsubara

I am currently the Pepsi Youth Championships Tournament Director and also a director both on the CUSBC state board and the youth committee. Was involved with the local YABA association from 1986-2001 in Southern California and was on the CSYABA board from 1986 until the merge in 2006. I was asked to be a speaker at the 2006 USBC National Convention on Youth Leaders in Florida and was a member of the 1990 All-California Collegiate Japan Tour Team. I was also the Awards Coordinator for the 1991 Olympic Festival. On behalf of the CUSBC, I accepted the award for the 2007 US Bowler Association Media Awards competition for Best Website at the National Convention Website Workshop in Kansas City while helping with the website QA session. I had a great experience in youth and collegiate bowling and enjoy giving back to the youth of today!

Retired from US Navy, in 1977, then worked for U.S. Government for 20 years; Started bowling in 1953 in JABC and had highest series shot in 1955. Has been on the San Diego local association board since 1983, and has bowled each year in the national championships since 1984.

I have been involved in bowling 40 years. I became a Director of OCWBA in 1979. Moving up to 3rd Vice President before they merged with USBC. I was Treasurer of the OCYABA and District Director of the CSYABA. I have attended Conventions as a Delegate to WIBC, CWBA and CYABA for 15 years. I am currently District 8 Director for Pepsi. I am a member of the National, State and Local 500 Club.

I have been the center youth director for Mission Hills Bowl since 1980 and a past local association YABA board member for 26 years.  Currently I am the North Los Angeles County Youth Committee Chair and have been on the board since they merged in 2006.  I was on the CSYABA State YABA board for 10 years and have been on the CUSBC board since they merged in 2006. Youth bowling is my second love, my first is my husband Lenny.

I began bowling as a youth on the east coast. I joined the southern Los Angeles County bowling association in 1998 as a director. I was a member and chaired each of the committees. I was a delegate to the national convention in 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2009 and 2010. I was a delegate for the state convention in 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005. I was elected association president in 2003 and was reelected to serve the final year before the merger. I served on the transition team for the Southern Los Angeles bowling association. I was appointed Vice President in 2006 for the Southern LA County USBC and was elected president in 2008. I was reelected to that office for that office in 2010. I have been the tournament director for the Men and Women’s Bowling Alliance since 2004. I was appointed treasurer for the Southern California Bowling Council in 2008. I was appointed to the State Board in August of 2010 to serve the remaining term for Director Position 11. I served on the awards committee and the Policy and procedure committee.
